Artist Statement
My current work, teaching, and research interests are informed by the legacies of institutional critique, conceptual art, painting and drawing in the expanded field, new media and handmade hybrids, the contemporary heroic landscape, social and cultural effects of technology, and the screen as locus for self presentation and the consumption of resources.

I am interested in the way consumer driven economies create unexpected consequences; in interior space, land use, and climate change. By using both new media and western academic traditions I attempt to contrast outdated archetypes against the naÔve reliance on the feel-good paradigms of our culture. In this way, my work weighs personal and collective histories and memory against the sensibilities of the presentówith results both humorous and ironic.
